Lincoln Northeast alum and Hall of Fame member David Mercer enters his 12th year coaching and his 5th as the head coach of Lincoln Northeast. Prior to being promoted to the varsity spot, Coach Mercer coached the junior varsity and freshmen teams at Northeast. A 1998 graduate of Northeast, Coach Mercer started on two state championship teams before continuing his playing career at Nebraska Wesleyan. Inducted into the LNE Hall of Fame in 2010, Mercer teaches Business classes at Northeast. He has led Northeast to back-to-back state tournament apperances.
